The main advantage of noble concrete is the possibility to shape it according to your ideas and needs of the interior. We cast DecorLit, the concrete mixture developed by us, into tailor-made moulds and thereby give it any desired and at the same time precise shape. Besides, we can combine concrete with other materials such as wood or glass.
Concrete is distinguished by its mechanical features, the firmness of its surface and resistance to high temperatures. Unlike marble, stone or granite, concrete decorations won’t break even under “brute force”. That is because they have steel reinforcement on the inside. Any potential cracks can therefore be easily glued, puttied, grinded over and the surface polished and reconditioned into its original state.
We treat the concrete surface with the so-called “hybrid impregnation”, during which the impregnation penetrates deep into the material, but at the same time, a micro-thin protective layer remains on its surface. This helps the surface retain its colour and structure for a long time. Thanks to this treatment, the concrete is also non-absorbent and resistant to weak acids, which can often be found in households. That’s why it is “in the dry” from for example red wine, lemon or vinegar.
We further modified our own concrete mixture for two kinds of uses. While DecorLit I. is suitable for the interior (kitchen units, worktops, sinks, staircases or bars), DecorLit E. is mostly used for outside kitchens, garden furniture or benches. Thanks to the special mixture and treatment, the concrete does not change its characteristics, even in unfavourable weather conditions.
We prepare our concrete mixture in four basic colours. At the same time, we can texture and pigment it, or combine it with other materials (metals, glass, carbon fibres) or cast various objects in it (minerals, fossils).
